let us tell you a story...
Although we may be filmmakers by trade, we are storytellers by nature. Venture into our world and let us weave a tale for you. We will tell you about life and love and fear and pain. We will show you laughter and tears, the devil and God. The story is the lifeblood of our world and nothing matters more.
…So lean close, and let us tell you a story.

At Whitestone we value education in it’s purest form, through experience. Everyone in the Whitestone has learned to teach themselves and self propel themselves in their craft. In January of this year, we opened up a small initiative called the Protege program. In the first run, we’ve gathered 5 filmmakers to create their own film projects beginning to end. And while we’re still in the production process, it’s been a great success.
Today we would like to open a new division of the Protege program. We are looking for talented writers to become part of our Protege writers group. This is an opportunity to write towards specific subjects, get your work critiqued by our writers and filmmakers, and possibly get your script produced by Whitestone’s Protege filmmakers. This is not a job opening or a paid position, but focused and intensive internship with Whitestone that goes beyond just ‘running coffee’.
We will be accepting 5 applicants into the program. You can send an email introducing yourself and a sample of your work to writers@whitestonemotionpictures.com. Your work will be passed to some of the writers at Whitestone and reviewed. Don’t be afraid if you’re not some established writer, feel that your too young or too new. We’re looking for someone with a raw talent and a desire to learn. We are accepting applicants from anywhere in the world, as we will run the entire program online through collaborative writing software.
What to submit:
1. Tell us about yourself, a short paragraph describing yourself and your goals as a writer.
2. Give us a sample of your writing no longer than one full page. Anything longer than one page will not be read, please don’t send your thousand page novel about Che Guevara . Doesn’t have to be a screenplay, it can be in treatment form or just a short story you’ve written. We’re looking for a grasp on the basics of storytelling.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are very proud to present our latest short film “Awake O’Sleeper”
A Hero comes from the wilderness to cry out to the captives, pleading for them to awaken. This short film from Whitestone was in part inspired by “Plato’s Cave” and depicts the struggle of freeing the captives, whomever they may be. This film is set to the song by the same name originally written for this film by the talented Wright Brothers: Nicholas Kirk and Billy Wilkerson.
Do you hear the Lion roar?
Download the mp3 of the song here.
